i have a question on exchange server 2003 suppose, i have one domain with name www.newyork.test.com and another domain by the name www.california.test.com the email addres are like this [e-mail] and [e-mail] both have there own exchange servers now I am looking for a solution so that I can ceate one domain with name test and assign email address like [e-mail] and [e-mail] plz tell me how can i do that keeping the present change servers intact

Pick a server to handle mail for that domain and then add it to the Recipient policy of that server so that the server knows it's supposed to handle that domain name.

Actually, test.com is the "root" server in this case.

For newyork.test.com or california.test.com to work, the domain test.com has to be the root. The others are simply "FQDN"  or "subdomains" of test.com!  So configuring test.com itself to get mail should be simply a matter of adding an MX record for it in the DNS use another IP if wanted, and setting up a mail server on the new IP or existing IP to get that mail. (in fact the normal setup is to do that first, then add additional mx servers like california. and newyork.  Just add a third, call it mail.test.com (cause all mail servers need an FQDN)  make the MX record for it point to test.com!

In all fact both of the ones you are using ARE mail servers for TEST.COM! (They have to be, thats the way it works.)
