I have a question on insects!?

ok, yesterday night, i woke up in the middle of the night, and turned on the light, and saw this bug, it was about 1 1/2 inches long, and went away when i turned on the light. It was brown, with a body that looked like a rolley polley's. I am wondering if this was a cockroach. If it is, can anyone tell me about them!!

it was really gross, and scary. I couldn't find it, after it fell off the table. But it really was huge!

i hate bugs, can't stand to sleep in a room with one!!!!!!!!!

I don't think its a cockroach but it could be a house centipedie since they are most commonly seen at night and can grow to be as long as about 2 inches. You should google images of the house cenitpedie and see if they match what you saw.
