I have a question regarding baby platies

I found 3 babies swimming around in the tank. I didn't know how long they had been there. They were hiding in the rock formation in the tank. Now they have been there about a week, and nothing has happened to them. Is there a time span when the mother doesn't eat

them, and does that happen mostly right after birth.

they are probably very well hidden if the mother (or other fish) have not eaten them yet. they will probably get eaten very soon.

the mom can eat them as long as they will fit in her mouth
