I want to make a trade that would involve me giving up Brandon Webb, Jeff Francis, Vicente Padilla, Brad Hawpe, and Erik Hinske for Edison Volquez and Cliff Lee. IS this a good idea. is it a fair trade what would your answer be to it?

  1. A 5 for 2 is almost never a good idea for the team receiving the five. They are giving up quality for quantity and still have to drop 3 more players. You would have to have an awfully bad team in a deep league to make this viable.

But i would love to get the two if it works.

    Good luck. Have fun.

  2. It depends on what you need. Volquez and Lee give you wins, era, k's, & whip. If that is what you need then go for it. Brad Hawpe has been pretty good since he's been off the dl. Webb hasn't done well his last 3 starts. Padilla is solid although i don't know how long it will last. Check to see what you need.

  3. Not a bad idea,but don't offer Webb right away.Offer a lesser pitcher.If he rejects,or counter offers,then add Webb.

This may make him think he's really "fleecing"you..When in reality that's the deal you wanted from the start. If you show your best deal from the start,he most likely will want more.

But you never know,he may take your 1st low ball offer.

    ~~Good Luck!~~
