  1. Biggun is right. Always start by checking the door. One more thing, if it works with the wall switch, but NOT the remotes, check to see if there is a "Lock" or "vacation" button on the wall switch.

This will lock out the remote control, which is why you would only hear a click. On Liftmaster, Chamberlain, and Sears openers, the wall button should be lit up with a steady light. If the light is blinking, it is in lock mode. If it is, hold in the "lock" button for three or four seconds, and that should fix it.

  2. I'm thinking that your sensor beams are off. They have to be perfectly lined up. (Lower corners of inside the door)

  3. Pull the disconnect cord, and see if it runs then. If it does, the door either has a broken spring, or is jammed somehow. If the opener still just makes a clicking noise, see if it will run by pushing the button on the wall. If it does, you might have a bad transmitter.

OR- see if you can tell if the chain has gotten stuck on the opener itself, or is in a bind somehow. If they get loose enough, they may catch on the inner slide for the carriage (the part that the arm which connects to the door is attached to)

    Good luck!
