I severely sprained both ankles within two years of each other a few years back. Since then, it's been OK. But lately, I've been feeling a burning sensation in the bottom of my left ankle.

Say I'm barefoot on the pavement. Measure an inch from the ground up to my ankle (achillies heel area), and that's where it burns. It's like someone is holding a match to it. It doesn't hurt when I walk, play basketball, etc. Only when I bend down to pick up something. Then it burns like crazy and I have to stand up real quick.

Could me Achillies Heel be on the verge of snapping? What's causing this burning? It's getting worse, and I'm going to see a doctor soon. I'm just wondering if you've heard of this before. Like I said, it only hurts when I bend down to pick something up. Thanks!
