My pool holds roughly 2200 gallons of water. I have shocked the pool and use a 3" chlorine tablet. My FC is 0, my PH is betwwen 7.2 to 7.5 and my TA is 40. How can I increase the FC and the TA? Thanks. Yes the pool has a 500 gallon per hour pump, but it stopped working and I'm waiting for the manufacturer to send a new one.

  1. You need to add sodium bicarbonate to your pool to increase the TA, a couple pounds should do it.  To raise the chlorine without circulation put a pound of granular chlorine in a bucket, add some water to the bucket and swoosh it around to disolve the chlorine in the water.  Throw the water in the pool and repeat the process until all the granular is gone.  Do the same thing with the TA.  Until the pump is back up the water will get cloudy due to a lack of filtration.
