Question:

I have a "Poka Dot" plant and it got too tall instead of bushy?

So i cut it back to about 8& inches tall and am trying to root it ,without results.Its been about 3 weeks or so and no visible roots yet, but it is still alive. Any suggestions?

  1. Try rooting it again in a rooting hormone. They come in a bottle and are available at most gardening centers. The roots are probably big enough to sustain the plant at it's current size, but is taking it' sweet time establishing (as most exotic plants do) the hormones make the roots grow faster to produce a better plant. If you want a bushier plant in the future  prune every few weeks and use a low nitrogen fertilizer. Hope this helps and good luck!


  2. They root in water.  Clear container, south window.  You should see roots in a week.  (You know to remove the lower leaves so they don't rot, right?)
