I have a "spent" criminal record can i still join the police force?

I was trialed at the age of 17 as a child and am now 20, my record is spent but would still like to join the police force!!!!

  1. That's a tough one buddy, most police forces don't hire somebody with a criminal record, but you did it as a juvenile, so I would think you have a 50/50 chance of getting in. I'd try the biggest city near you, because they tend to lookover some records to fill the quota for new law enforcement officers. Hopefully you weren't in jail for three years, but you still have a chance, and it wouldn't hurt to try. Having a record might actually help you to find things other cops couldn't dream of finding, like in a drug stop. That's how I learned to be so good at finding contraband
