Question:

I have a raspberry bush at home and there are barely any raspberries...what may be the cause?

I was thinking maybe it had something to due with the low amount of bees in my backyard

  1. It is also possible that your canes are TOO old. Raspberries fruit on second year canes. The older ones that turn brown should be cut out right down to the ground. If you don't prune out the older canes, they will crowd out the new canes that would bear fruit.


  2. You may have the fall-bearing variety.  Also, young bushes won't produce any to few fruit the first year.  Keep the bushes well-watered, well-fertilized and in a sunny location.
