  1. maybe he/she doesnt like the food you are offering it bit thats not likely. if it is hungry it will eat dont worry. maybe check its teeth though just in case it might have teeth problems.

  2. if you have any other pets such as a cat the rat might be scared or if it is just skitish u should get one of his family members in the cage with her/him rats are prown to repritory disease and wont eat then...you should  check up with ur vet i paid more than 100 $ for medicine for my sick rat  who had respritory disease but if they did there would be red discarge coming from nose and ears ..hope i helped!

  3. If your rat goes longer than 12 hours without eating, this is very dangerous! They will go through what is called Gut Stasis meaning the digestive system will shut down causing other organs to shut down. Try to hand feed him and if that's not enough, call the vet for advice. Make sure you call a vet that studies exotic animals or else they will no nothing and might possibly tell you the wrong stuff. PLEASE HURRY

  4. How long have you had the rat? Does it live with other rats? What are you feeding it? I can help you figure out the issue if you give a few more details. (:

  5. Take him to the vet, if he really isn't eating there may be something wrong with him, well I can pretty much guarantee there is something wrong with him and only the vet will be able to tell. Ask the vet about how to feed him, most likely the vet will give you yogurt starter which you add water too and then its like a milk shake for him that you feed him with a syringe. Good luck.

  6. Put some rat food in his cage. If he is hungry, he will eat. He probably just is not hungry.
