Yesterday i was at a train station and i was running up an escalator. I fell and my knee went in to the jagged edge of the step. When i sat down it started bleeding. After i got home i looked at it and there was a really deep cut, deep enough to get stitches, but not very wide, so i didn't go to the hospitail. Now today it hurts extremely to move and when i can actually bend it, it puts me in tears. Its really swollen, and motrin helps a little. Now 24 hours after i feel like its huge, and getting more swollen. It hurts under my knee cap and on the left side and front. Think i should go to the hospitial or wait it out? And is it possible for you to have internal bleeding around your knee?

  1. I think you should go to the hospital to make sure that it's not infected or anything worst.

  2. go to your local emergency room, this could be serious. if you go now it can be resolved in an early stage.

  3. you may have torn a ligament and have internal bleeding because stitches help to stop the bleeding inside of your knee. go to the hospital asap!

  4. it sounds like a cyst in your knee to me. you might need surgery. go to your local emergency room.

a cyst is a realy bad infection that hurts a lot, my friend has one and she needed surgery. hers was in her knee too.

  5. I think that you should go to the ER or to Urgent Care or at the very least - your family dr.

You very likely torn a muscle or ligament that surrounds your knee cap or supports your knee.  While you may not require surgery - it's best to get it looked at now because if it doesn't heal correctly, you could be in for some serious pain/ reconstructive surgery later on in life.

Put ice on the knee and stay off of it as much as possible until you get proper health care.

    Good Luck!
