I have a really deep unique voice. I want to get into announcing. How do I get into Sports announcing?

I have a very unique voice and I don't know anyone that has a voice close to mine. I want to know how do you get into Sports announcing. I am current in school at East Carolina University for Journalism and I help write for the Newspaper there. I don't know if my voice is good enough because people always talk about how deep it is. If someone can give me some advice on what to do that would be great.
