I have a really old eska 7.0 hp outboard engine.?

Down by the propeller there are 2 plugs one says vent and the other says fill. does anyone know what type of fluid goes in here?

  1. Get a Lower Unit Lube 80W - 90 from any marine supply store.  

    A tube should be enough, you will not need very much, no need to purchase a quart unless you you want more to change it again next year. (hint - hint)

    Not your motor I know, but almost all outboard lower units use the same fill and vent set up.

  2. Odd thing with outboards you have to open the bottom fill hole, stick the nipple from the oil bottle in there then open the vent hole and begin filling.  When the oil reaches the top vent hole close it and see how fast you can remove the bottle nipple and replace the fill s***w.  Suction will help, but it will be messy.

  3. Yes, a 90 SAE outboard gear oil.  If you can't find it look at auto parts stores, they probably have it.
