I have a recipee for tiramisu it calls for marsala.?

what is marsala? i am thinking wine but i dont know for shure.please help.thanks

  3. I am a former chef and it is a fortified wine like port, sherry and maderia, and anyone of those can be used in the zabaglone for the tiramisu base.

    If not a bit of strong coffee is fine to.

    its not hard to find...any grocery store with a decent wine selection will carry it...and most defiantly you can find it at a local liquor store.

  6. It's a Sicilian sweet thick wine. Yes, some tiramisu' recipes call for marsala but it's up to you if you want to add it, few people don't like the liquor taste in tiramisu'.
