I have a recurring dream that the world is ending and I cannot find my husband.. what does it mean?

Here is the dream: The world (or at least my corner of the United States) is doomed. There are multiple tornadoes on the horizon, fire raining down from the sky, or immense tidal waves coming in my direction.. you know, that sort of thing. There is no hope for escape. I panic because I do not know where my husband is. I call him on the telephone, there's no answer. I look for him frantically but never find him. I worry that he's in danger, that he's frightened, that I'll never see him again.

Last night I had a similar dream with a twist. A wizard has locked me in a tower with a couple dozen other people. There is a hellish wind violently throwing everything around the room. I get a call from my husband's friend saying that they're both in an identical tower with another group of people, and that only one group will survive. I somehow manage to get to my husband in the other tower. We're huddled together under a desk, trying to protect each other from flying debris.. I tell him, "I'd rather die together than live out the rest of my life without you."

Do these dreams have any latent meaning?

  1. I think it means you truly love your husband and even in the worst of times you want him next to you, and the last part "I'd rather die together than live out the rest of my life without you" is pretty self explanatory.

That quote from you is really touching, to find someone you would rather die with if u had to than safe yourself.

beautiful, hope i find that kind of love one day.

  2. this dream means that yourare truly in love with your husband. you feel your life is in danger, but your more worried about his.

  3. One opinion:

The "hellish" wind and suchlike conditions symbolize some emotions that otherwise are not being expressed.  Perhaps some anxiety about the stability or permanence of your marriage, for example.

The two groups locked up by a "wizard," with only one group surviving, indicate a process of divorce is feared, with the wizard being the uncontrollable outplaying of sad events.

That you manage to overcome the lockup, seek and find your husband, and huddle together with him, is a big step forward re healing your fear of separation.

If you have any fear at all about your marriage, or would like to improve it, give a call to the folks at http://www.focusonthefamily.com during business hours, M-F, 1-800-232-6459, ask for Counseling dept., give your (even seemingly insignificant) fear, let them suggest some resources.

"For Men Only" and "For Women Only," Shaunti Feldhahn, are good, as is "Soul Mates and Twin Flames," Elizabeth Clare Prophet.
