I have a regular comcast cable box and was wondering how to record shows via vcr?

  1. If your cable box has video out, connect video out to video in on the VCR.

    If your VCR has only an RF input, connect RF out of the box to RF in into the VCR.

    Both your box user manual and your VCR user manual should provide additional help.


  2. the cable from your wall goes to "in" on cable box.

    connect another cable from the "out" on cable box to" line in" of vcr .

    connect a cable from  " line out" of vcr to " line in" on your tv set.

    set both the vcr and tv to the same channel, either channel 3 or 4, whichever is used in your area.

    use the cable box "remote"  to change channels. the vcr and tv always stay set to either 3 or 4.

    this is the easiest hookup, but there are other ways as well but too complicated to explain here. good luck
