I thought the three were dead, and I was about to remove the nest from above my garage door entrance and a hatchling moved its head. The temperature is running about 90 degrees everyday. There is a parental bird involved (I just saw it with a worm in its beak, watching my every move) Is there anything I can do to help these baby birds?

  1. Leave them alone for the parents know what to do if you disturb them the parents may abandon them

  2. Let them be...birds have been dealing with weather for centuries just fine without our help.  My study site has daily temperatures that get up to 102 degrees and the birds do fine.  Sure they can get hot, put they will pant to cool themselves and sometimes the adults will sit on them to shade them if they are in direct sunlight.  You can provide food and water for the parents..but provide it away from the nest..too close can attract predators to it.  Other than that, just let nature take it's course.  Do not continually  get close to the nest or the parents will cosider you a predator and stay away.

  3. Leave some food for the parent, but don't scare the bird into never coming back.  I don't think birds will die in a temperature or 90, they are more prone to cold temperatures.

  4. leave them alone. Ok birds dont drink like humans do and they are mostly feathers. So just leave them be. If you think its to hot where they are like in the garage i am thinking then you can turn a fan on to circulate air. Do not blow on them. But leave them be let nature takes its course. Besides mom knows best.

  5. Leave them alone and stay away from the nest so the parents don't abandon them.

    Let Mother Nature take over.

You couldn't fed them, nor fledge them, and teach them where to find safe food in the wild any way.
