i was given two robin fledglings after their parents were killed. first one parent then a week later the other. one fledgling was bitten by a cat and died last night which we were expecting. the other is just fine and very strong and content to eat to his hearts content.i know what to feed him my aunt was licenced though fish and game for the care of wild and endangered birds but i so far have been unable to contact her for HOW much to feed him. he a fledgling not a nestling but unable to fly so far (though he is trying his hardest).until i can find a center willing to take him i have to feed him to keep him alive. Both parents are either dead or gone we looked every where in four diferent yards for them it was a huge group effort. thats for the people who dont give any information except leave the fledglings and twiddle your thumbs while they die from starvation or another animal desides to eat them.so all in all how much should i feed this fledgling.

  1. You need to get these birds to an expert at a local wildlife rehab for their best chance of survival.  You could have tried to save the bird who was attacked by a cat as well..if you had taken it immediately to get antibiotic treatment it may have survived.  It is illegal for you to have these birds in your possession...as all wild native birds are protected by law.  Look here for a rehab near you:

  2. mealworms... the small ones, cut off their heads and feed to their content :)
