I re-potted it about 2 weeks after buying it and followed all instruction. I used miracle grow potting soil. It kinda looks like the top leaves are still good and even look like some are new. How can I save my plant.

  1. Like most plants, when they are re-potted go into shock, especially when the root system is disturbed.. Not really sure what to tell you, but i think it should come around slowly.

I also think rubber trees are a little touchy too.

    Good luck.

  2. when you disturb a plant, it could have caused the level of hormones to change. The loss of leaves is caused by a hormone called ethylene as well as the lack of the auxin hormone. Auxin is produced at the top of the plants. That is why the top leaves are still there because there is a higher concentration of auxins. The plant could not transport the hormones to the lower of the plant. Maybe when you re-potted the tree, the roots could have been damaged and it is now unable to get enough water. There are usually some sort of bacteria that live in the soil with the tree which helps it absorb water. Without it, the tree cannot get enough water. Since you are using a commercially made soil in a bag, it probably contains none of the needed bacteria. Since the tree cannot get enough water, it cannot create the turgid pressure needed to transport the hormone from the top to the bottom of the tree,

I think the best thing to do is just keep watering, but not over water or the roots of the tree might drown.
