I have a rugby grandfinal on sunday is there any way to fix a unswollen sprained ankle by then ?

it hurts when i put pressure on it but i can still walk

  1. My dad suggested that I ice my ankle till it's numb and then stand on a stair (balls of my feet on the edge) and lower the ankle until it started popping and grinding. But I'm not sure that's a terribly good idea (I didn't try it).

    I suggest trying to find a good ankle brace. I bought an ankle brace for myself (for rugby) recently that works pretty well (and it's legal!). It's a "McDavid Ultralite Laced Ankle with straps" it has laces and straps to hold the ankle steady. It might not completely solve the problem but it should help some. Look for something like that. You can, of course, tape it instead but that might not be enough depending on the severity of the sprain.

    Otherwise, just be careful with it until the match and see how it feels. If you can stand the pain and preform well you should be okay (although you might cause further injury). Good Luck!
