I have a ryboi weed eater when i ground the plug put it back in it will run but when i give it gas it stalls?

i replaced the string on my roybi two stage gas weed eater after doing so we could not get it to start. we pulled the spark plug and replaced it we where not getting no spark so we grounded the plug with a s***w driver against the block got spark put plug back in and it started but when we try to move the gas controll from a to b position it dies we put it back at a and it will restart and stay running at a idle but when we try to give it gas or move position of starting lever it dies. after sitting over night went out to try and start would not start pulled plug again use s***w driver again to ground against block seen spark put plug back in and it started but same as before it wont stay running when i try to give it gas od move lever from a to b im not sure why this is

Sounds like the carburetor needs to be serviced, not a problem with the spark-plug. Could be the choke is sticking and flooding the carb.
