I have a s-video wire?

if i cut one end of it and put a usb wire connect it to the s-video. then put one end that the s-video wire to the tv and connect the usb part to my laptop to she it on my tv is that possible. I dont feel like buying one of those adapter

  1. S video is not a digital signal you have chroma and  luma signals

    USB is a data stream and 5 volts DC.

    Furthermore an S video device can't give the USB device it's mfg ID number to load the proper drivers. Even if it was a digital signal which it's not.

    If you have an VGA port you can get an adapter for it to S video.

    A VGA to component video are a little cheaper about $20

    I would get a set top box for the TV since by 2/17/2009 you are going to need a set top box anyways.

    Connect the set PC to the set top BOX connect the set top BOX to the TV.  For a $40 coupon towards a qualifying  set top box, see the .gov  link below

    And on that .gov web site they say certified set top boxes will be from $40 to $70.


  2. I doubt it. You could ruin your TV or your PC. Your better off buying the adapter. Its cheaper than a new PC!!
