  1. Hmmm, is this an LCD PROJECTOR? Did you use it with a computer ? Does the yellow box have the same size and position of something you bring up on your screen and work with for some time? Or even exclusively use it with a certain program or game or TV station?

Yellow boxes are GENERALLY BURNS....and I think you may have burned your BLUE LCD PANEL....

    IF it's LCD.....

If it's a DLP, you don't get burns....

If it's Plasma...well you get burns on those too, but it can be ANY color....pink , yellow, sky blue.....

But I suspect it's an LCD projector....

A model number would verify that,  or the Instruction booklet will describe the TYPE of projector you have....

And Burns are NOT COVERED by any warranty....the instruction booklet will state that.  And since Most of us, including ME don't read the booklet, we find out after the fact.....

You cannot DE-Burn a burned LCD panel, it requires replacement of the optical engine.....

  2. You have a pixel that's stuck on (LCD projector).  Unfortunately it's fairly common.  If your projector is brand new then you might be able to get the store\website to replace it.  Some online retailers have a zero dead\stuck pixel policy.  If they won't replace it then you will have to live with it.  Try not to let it bother you.  It's probably only noticeable in dark scenes anyway.
