I have a schefferella plant. I'm wondering whether or not it likes lots of sun or only partial...and how often I should water it? Its' leaves are starting to shed...is that normal?

Schefflera....

direct sun will burn it... water only when the soil is dry to the touch.....and be sure it's pot drains well....

We have one located of the south side of our home under a patio cover.It has been there for six years and is now between 7' & 8'.It is watered one time per week.The only sun exposure is early morning from the East and is protected from the sun's heat from mid day to late afternoon.The indirect sunlight seems to do the trick for my plant.

An occasional treatment of plant food or Miracle Grow helps also.In Winter it is protected from the North wind and we string clear christmas lights along the branches to keep it warm .In freezing weather we cover the plant with some form of tarp,

old vinyl table cloths or old bed linen.
