  1. Not knowing your limitations for your project, I would suggest that you make a small sailboat.  With all the talk about "greenhouse gasses" and "alternate fuel sources", you could build a non polluting boat.

You could build a simple and quick one with a one liter soda bottle, three plastic rulers, a coat hanger for your mast and boom, shoe laces or fishing line for the mast support lines (shrouds), a old T-shirt that you cut to make your sail.  More fishing line for the mainsail control lines.

You can make what is called a Catamaran.  Two rulers for the support between the two soda bottle hulls and the third one you use as your keel and rudder.

    Good luck on your project.

Bring a small fan with you.

  2. make a boat out of paper or drinking straws

  3. make sure you have a keel to balance the main sail. you need the wind to lift the sail (like an aeroplane wing) and the keel to convert the wind lift in the sail to forward motion of the boat.
