I have a year and a half old eastern painted. He's super sweet and all but I don't know if this will hurt him or not. His tank heater recently stopped working and I know that he needs heat to live so I took my lava lamp and I set it by his basking rock. (outside the tank of course!)

I've noticed he's a LOT more active recently and he seems to like watching the little blobs moving around in the lamp.

This wont affect his healt or eyesight in any way will it? He still has his sunlight lamp and his space and food and such. I just want to be sure I'm not hurting my baby.

  2. Those bubbles are moving and sliders hjave bad eye sight he probably is hoping its a fish going to swim his way to eat..

Are you feeding fish for the calcium the turtle needs to grow?

Are you feeding leafy greens for the vitamins they supply?

Is the tank temperature at least 75 to 79degrees?

Exercise comes from chasing the fish to eat.

He needs to bask at least 8 to 10 hrs a day?
