I have a separate digi box for my TV. Can i record programmes off of it onto my video recorder?

My TV is hooked up to a DVD player and a video recorder and now has a new seperate digi box. Is there a simple way to record off of the digi box onto the vhs? I cant seem to work it out how to do it.

  1. Simply NO.  You can record channels 1-5 in your regular TV mode of course.  To record Freeview you need you need a recording device with built in Freeview (usually hard drive recorders).

    Sorry, but I have found that out myself too but I shall keep trying!


  2. By digi box I assume you mean a digital converter.

    You will use the tuner in the digital converter to select a channel. If you want to record the same channel that you watch on your TV, just run the coax output from the convert box to your DVD player/VHS recorder and leave your TV connected to this player/recorder.

    If you wish to record a different channel than the one on your TV, you will need 2 converter boxes. Each will need a connection to your antenna feed (use a splitter between the antenna and the 2 converters). You also still need a connection from your TV to the DVD player/VHS recorder.
