I have a serious ant problem please help!

< in my kitchen if i leave so much as a ml of orange juice out i get at least 10,000 ants swarming like h**l to it and i cant be bothered killing them and wiping them up any more. what can i do.

A couple of years ago, someone else in the Answers forums posted a recipe for ant baits that is highly effective:

1/4 cup sugar

2 tablespoons borax

3/4 cup hot water.

Stir everything together until the sugar and borax dissolve, then dip pieces of bread crust in the solution and leave them wherever you see the ants. The ants will eat the baits and carry it back to their nests- which will kill off most of them within hours, though you may need a few days to get them all.

Meanwhile, do your best to not leave anything out for the little pests, and do wipe down your counters with cleaner and a fresh cloth often: The ants seem to have a talent for finding stuff that the human eye can&#039;t see, but they will be more reluctant to go where there is nothing to find.

I heard Riddex Plus works at keeping out bugs. Plug it into the wall and it&#039;ll help repel pests. Home depot had &#039;em. Take a look.

You may need an exterminator if it&#039;s that bad; but, believe it or not, ant traps can help if they&#039;ve been left down for a while.  (Maybe you&#039;ve already tried them.)

There are bug killers you can put around your baseboards or around the foundation, but they don&#039;t always work.

In the meantime, keep wiping the surfaces and ant paths with cleaner and don&#039;t leave anything out at all.  Sometimes ants show up for a while but then stop showing up until the same time next year.

Usually the ants we would get in the house could be eliminated with Terro.  It&#039;s a liquid that you put a couple drops on a piece of the cardboard that comes with it and the ants will gather around it, eat it up and be gone the next day.  It really works wonders.  You can get it at Ace Hardware stores, and probably Walmart too.  I can really swear by this product.
