  1. I'm really sorry. That really sucks. I have no suggestions besides the ones already given. Let me just say, at my musical last year, "wizard of oz", the person who played Dorothy got sick the day before opening night. The next two days, she performed, and in between scenes, she ended up running back stage to throw up, just to go back on stage to perform again.

  2. I can't think of anything specific...have a honey and lemon or something. Somethign i will say, if its just a sore throat and a cold then get over it. I have performed on stage 6 evenings in a row, with no voice to speak, but i still managed to sing. If it is important to you, you will do what you can to be on that stage.

  3. I know what it's like to be sick for a show...... but the show must go on! I'm sure you know how to stay healthy.... nutrition, rest, and exercise, but during a show you are usually lacking some of those. My advice is to  drink lots and lots of water and to save your voice until the show. (But try not to whisper because it actually has the same effect on your voice as shouting. talking quietly is a better solution) As to medicine-wise, try taking ecinechea drops (unsweetened because the sugar will coat your throat which doesn't help much) or tablets,  coldFX, (expensive but WONDERFUL) or NeoCitran.

    Hope I helped!

  4. Take some Sudafed or Tylenol congestion meds and get a really good nights sleep. Tomorrow before the show, take a nap too. Do Not Get Run Down. Use some throat spray for your throat tonight and tomorrow. You could even keep it backstage at the show tomorrow if you don't feel any better.

Get Better & Good Luck :)

  5. drink some medicine rest do not talk or even shout cause ur throat will be much sore and for ur nose just try to go to the doctor and find out what is happening and if u need more rest just rest at all do not speak or anything else or else just go to sleep cause it will help u feel better

  6. Don't talk at all, drink hot lemon and honey, steam your throat (head over a bowl of boiling water, breathing it in), lots of sleep.  Also, if you're losing your voice and need a quick fix (and this is ONLY a quick fix, not to be used except in emergency) there's some stuff called Throat Coat Tea which will give you your voice back temporarily.  The reason that it's only a quick fix is that it masks the symptoms, doesn't solve the problem, and so if you continually use it and sing through a sore throat, you can do damage.  But in an emergency it works magic.

  7. You should have gone to the doctor at the first sign of trouble.

  8. I mean no disrespect, and NO ONE here can prescribe meds, I suspect. I empathize, BUT,,, If you've ever seen a recent commercial for a diet food for men, with Dan Marino and Larry the Cable Guy, Larry drops a bowling ball on Dans foot. His statement is "SHAKE IT OFF" I suggest you should as well, OR alert someone immediately.

Many of us have to work through, live through our ills. Life is like that.

Again I mean no offense, but have you ever had this happen before??? Have no any knowledge at all of what over the counter meds might have been effective??? Sigh.

More to the point perhaps, can they replace you, or work around you? Would you be OK infecting everyone in the cast???
