  1. You really need to take it to the vet.

What colour are the faeces? coccidiosis (aka going light) is a major killer in birds and is characterised by green faeces, lethargy and weight loss.

I advise you isolate her and collect a faecal sample to take to the vet. Baycox is licensed for chickens but is only available from a vet.

Sour crop is also common and i have found this tends to arise in birds that have access to grass/dirt and occurs after rainfall. The contents in the crop ferment and make the chicken burp and feel sick, therefore they stop eating and lose weight.

If you are in the UK is is hot at the moment so bring her inside and offer cool water and layers pellets. Take her to a vet asap

  2. Oh poor chicky - take it to the vets. I've taken several of ours and the vets been able to help. Is it moulting? One of ours gets really sick looking when she's moulting and then a few weeks later she's fine again.
