Where does the water goes when you defrost your fridge. I notice it goes through the panel in the freezer in the back but do you have to take the water out and where do you do that.

  1. Usually, there's a drip pan down by the compressor. The heat from the compressor then evaporates the water in the pan.

  2. It drains into a plastic pan under the bottom of the unit.  The water then evaporates either by the air from the condenser fan blowing over it, or the tubing from the compressor to the condenser, which is at a high temperature, laying in the pan and heating the water up, causing it to evaporate.  (This does two good things-evaporates the water, and the cool water helps cool down the hot tubing some.)  Some fridges even use a combination of the two.
