I have a sixth grade problem!?

Now, I'm not freaking out about it, I'm just curious on what it will be like. I've read the other "6th grade help" articles, but I didn't really learn anything. In my school district, 6th grade is the start of middle school. To me, that's not that scary. What I am worried about the most, is how to deal with my teachers. (In 6th grade, we don't switch classes yet) My sister had my teacher for 6th grade, also. My sister is really close to being a genius. She is taking Calculus in her Freshman year of high school!!!!! My teacher loved her. I hate being compared to my older sister, and I'm afraid that he will do that. Also, I'm in Gifted and Talented, and that teacher loved her, too!!!! How can I not be compared to her? How can I stand it if they do???

Honey you are in Gifted and Talented too. So if they compare you to her did you ever think they might think YOU are the better one at something?

I had a big sister who I thought was better than me at everything. I was grown and gone before I realised I was every bit as smart as her, as pretty as her and just as popular as her.I could have saved myself a  lot of grief it I had worked that out sooner.

You be proud of who YOU are and what YOU can do. Your sister has her achievements but they will never eclipse yours, so don't worry.

well- if she does compare i would confront her about it. tell her that when she compares you think it is not very respectful because you are 2 completely different people. (the teacher would respect it if you said it after class- everything will work out as long as you are not rude and snotty about it) sure you may be family, but everyone has their own way of learning. i definatley would not just let her keep on saying "wow you are nothing like your sister" or anything in that way. i have heard of this before. but like i said confront her and hopefully everything will be ok (: (you should not compare yourself to her or anyone either) good luck with your teacher ! i am sure she won't compare (:

same hear sister every frikin grade i go to my teachers ask if my brothers well.. my brother and when i'm not as smart as him they act all dissapointed it drives me mad
