Scratchy throat, watery eyes, and runny nose and some congestion. Any teas that work wonders? Or something your mom or grandma told you about? I don't like to take medication for minor things.

  1. Make herbal coffee and have it hot. Its magic. if it worked please post a message so that it will be useful to  other people. follow this link for the recipe. Add half teaspoon of crushed coriander to the ingredients

  2. Chamomile tea (provided you aren't allergic to the daisy family!) and lots of it! Or if you can find one of those 'sore throat' blends, those are even better. I also use essential oils with a warm compress for when my hubby and kids get a cold. A nice warm bath while drinking your tea would be wonderful. Oh, and don't forget to drink lots of water. The tea and water will help to flush out your lymphatic system which is most likely congested and causing you to be sick in the first place. Fresh pineapple is great too. It contains the enzyme bromelain which is great for clearing the respiratory system.

I am a very holistic massage therapist who my friends and family lovingly call 'witch doctor'.

  3. Try Ginger tea (you can grate a little Ginger root into hot water)

or try hot water with lemon and honey

-or a hot toddy - whisky, honey and hot water

you could also try steam inhalations to make you feel better - especially with a little peppermint oil

taking supplements of Echinacea, or Vitamin C should also help

Hope you are feeling better soon.

  4. Eating garlic will make your nose run while honey will help a sore throat.
