  1. Depending upon your state and local regulations, you may have to register your business or get a business license. To find out, google your state's secretary of state or "starting a business in (your state)" Most states have online tools to help you or pdf files you can download. If you can't find what you need online, get a phone number and call.

The second thing that you'll need is to check with the Department of Agriculture in your region to see what rules govern the sale of plants and produce. In the State of Washington for example, you have to pay a fee in addition to the business registration and an agricultural inspector inspects your growing operation to be sure that you are using good practices. (Not endangering anyone or spreading pests or plant disease.) As far as I know, all states have rules about this even if people aren't aware of them. Some states exempt growers who sell less than a specific dollar amount each year. Most farmer's markets require evidence of compliance before you can participate. I know that Oregon, Washington, and California all do.

You might be able to contact your local extension agent for help. Google ("your county and state) extension agent.

Most of the officials that deal with this sort of thing are really helpful, so don't be afraid. If they find you are doing something incorrectly, they'll tell you and you'll have to fix it. It's nothing to be apprehensive of.

    I hope that helps!

  2. Unless you proclaim organic, you should be able to sell right out of the garden. No lincense needed. You may need to pay a small fee to join a farmers market.

  3. GO TO THE CITY HALL IN THE TOWN WHERE YOU WANT TO SELL AND ASK FOR THE LICENSING DEPARTMENT. THEY WILL ISSUE YOU A LICENSE.

  4. Check with your local government website regarding the local ordinances. You didn't mention the area, so I can't be of more help. Try Google and use your own zip.

  5. setup an "Honor System" stand on the road. My friends make a killing that way

  6. just sell them i never had a lic.i sold to kensnewmarket and places they bought boxes of stuff i never had to have one and i sold at farmers markets.but if you want check at your county clerks office they can help you.

  7. I am unsure if this is for every state but here in Northern Virginia there is no license needed. We have a "farmers market" type of thing once a week at a local park where people can sell their homegrown produce. This is just near me (15 minutes or so outside of DC) so I am not sure if there are other laws for other states. Most towns have local gardening plots available for rent and I would see if you could find one locally and ask the people that have plots there how they go about selling their produce.

  8. check with the county u live in...  We have a Farmers Market and I doubt any of them have any kind of licenses.......

  9. As long as you are not processing the crops there is no need for a liscense to sell them in the USA. If you want to sell jams, bread, cakes, etc., than you will likely need some sort of license but that varies from state to state.

Check with your state department of agriculture as that is the body that sets such rules.

  10. Check your states commerce laws and your states agriculture dept. website for the answer. Just go to www.(whatever your state is).gov and search.

  11. just make some agreement with afew sellers in the market so you could sell to them without payiny the taxmen a penny.

cash crops are the best to sell cos cash coming in every few days.

  12. You build you a little roadside shack...... get the proper permits (if applicable in the area you intend to sell it) and open up shop.

Word to the wise..... don't try to sell any wacky tobacky at your little roadside stand....... it would be frowned upon.....

If you do sell it, make sure you sell donuts as well...... might need a bribe!
