I have a sneezy rat????

Question

Well, I do have about 3 years experience with rats. One of the rats, (I got 4 days ago) Is pretty sneezy. I'm thinking its just the stress of a new home still, but he lets me pick him up, and play with him. He's eating and drinking perfectly, theres no gurgling, or coughing, and no discharge anywhere. He is in good health besides the sneezing. I don't think its the bedding, none of my other rats have been allergic to aspen.. any advice?

i have a rat like that shes fine but sneezes ive taken her to the vets shes had antibiotics they say there's nothing wrong with her lol.

your new rats probs just stressed out with all the change give him time to settle in and if it hasn't got better at all then take him to the vets. i would change the bedding just to make sure he isn't allergic best to be sure and all

hmm,

i'd try and get him to a vet. it might have something to do with the type of bedding the rat was previously on? maybe some respiratory problems. then again, it could be something very simple. it's just better to be safe than sorry.

(if you want, try changing the bedding until before you go to the vet ..just so you can see if it helps any. that way you can tell the vet if it helped any or not. i'd try using just paper towels. they love ripping those up and builing nests.)
