I have a sony reciever and the led screen doesn't come on. No sound but the power lght comes on. Is it shot?

a few of the other lights come on also. If I connect speakers they don't do anything. When i turn it on it makes the normal clink sound and some lights come on but not the led screan. It will only go on the video and tv setting. I can't switch to tuner or cd or anything else. Does anyone know if this reciever is dead?

not if it is worth repair! how expensive,what model,etc... i repair electronics and you would be amazed the people that toss perfectly fixable pieces! take it to an authorized service center!! pay for the diagnosis and take it from there!!!!

I think your best bet is try to send your item to the authorized Sony service depot. Alternatively, you can get help from some one knows a little bit electronics, a student from electronics school is OK. As your Sony receiver don't have enough power to push a speaker, your Sony receive could have the simple problem of just shorting the jack (the hole connect to ear phone). If so, you can watch your technical friend to fix it with a small s***w driver.It also could be a broken circuit or wire inside your Sony receiver. You should watch your friend open the cabinet of the receiver and have  visual inspection. You will get it fix for free.
