  1. Do you mean in Windows?

    Most PC's do not come with a built-in microphone; you need to connect one to the MIC input on your sound card; then you need to enable it in Windows.

    Some laptops don't have a microphone, either, as I discovered when I received my new DELL laptop. I have to plug a small Microphone into the MIC jack. My fault for not fully reading the specs before I bought it.
