  1. it wasn't you,car was up for sale,a ''punter'' wanted a test drive,he left a deposit, returned but didn't what to buy the car..only name you got was dave....but youll only get away with it the once...

    EDIT.

ive used it twice, once in a car and also ion abike it DOES work..so ''rasp'' to the thumbs down.

  2. Its a picture of your car and your license plate so there is no way around it.....

  3. Desert Camel has the best answer here, just remember to print yourself out a 'for sale' sign & stick it in the window of your car - you didn't advertise, someone just saw the sign & left his car & keys as a deposit. You don't know him, and he said he didn't want the car & decided against it after a test drive.

  4. As the registered keeper / owner / nominated driver or as an employer, you have a duty to identify the driver of the vehicle at the time of the alleged offence. A further notice will then be sent to the nominated person to complete.

If you fail to supply the information required this may result in you being prosecuted under Section 172 of the Road Traffic Act 1988. This carries a maximum fine of £1,000 and six penalty points.

  5. i hate speed cameras

  6. Sorry the fine is yours *** long as they have the number plate they can trace your name and address. Also trees must not be hiding the camera but in your case they were not. As for going up hill doing 49 speed that is possible on most cars but you could go to court and argue it out but it may end up with a bigger fine so lf lt was me l would prefer to pay up.

  7. Take a photo of your cash and send it in to pay the fine.

  8. I would assume that u have a numberplate on the back of your car. All they would need to do is put the reg into their database and hey presto! your name and address comes up

  9. Nice one Desert Camel !

I read a true story in the paper about a couple who was on Holiday and got caught. But because it was a long journey they had been swapping who was driving. Because of this they could not remember who was driving at the time of the alleged offence,

Since it is a crime to make a false declaration of who was driving, they refused to on the grounds that they could be falsely incriminating the other one. The CPS had no choice but to drop the case on the grounds of insuffciant evidence

  10. It always is - they photograph your car as you go by. You should have received a notice before the fine asking who the driver on the day was, information that you are legally obliged to provide. Have they supplied you with a copy of the photograph? Is there any possibility that the speed camera could have misread owing the the parked cars you mention?

  11. just pay the fine. There is no loopholes to that. You can go to court and argue the case, but to be honest they would say-you should have been in a lower gear.

They got you number plate-contains drivers name and address. As for who was driving the car. For example your wife and not you. Then let them know...however, there is a traffic act which if your caught to be lying. (say you got 6points, she has none so you gave them to her) you can be liable for a prison sentence. 3 people have been sent in. -Their cases easy to find on the net as they made the papers.

  12. Perhaps you could contact the police and find out an approximate time and date of the incident. You can appeal but if they are h**l bent on saying you were doing 49mph then who ever was driving is going to have to pay.

  13. Dig through this site, cameras CAN get confused.
