I have a sprint palm centro and i want to transfer some music. How can i make it transfer music?

i have downloaded the disc to my computer, and when i go to transfer the music to my phone (pick the music out) it says, "there was a problem installing this hardware MTP device" what does that mean how do i make it not tell me that

Heres my way of doing it

you dont need to install any cd just go to windows media player and then sync and it should load the palm centro(you should have connected it to your pc via usb cable) and the you drag songs to sync and press sync and wait for it to sync and your done
