Hello

I have VMWare workstation.

I also have two computers on my network, as far as I remember they each have been submasked as each ip address has a different number.

Any clues?

  1. control panel -> network and other connections -> network connections-> right click on network you use -> properties -> select internet protocol (tcp/ip) -> click properties

at this point you should write down the settings that are currently in use so you can reset them back if needed

click on obtain ip addredd automatically

  2. What T said - do that. You can set a setting to choose static or assigning a new one each time you boot.

  3. Use dhcp...

    That's what it's there for.
