I have a strange bump under my ear and behind my jaw, beneath the skin. It's located right next to a vein. It hurts slightly when I press it, but it isn't unbearable pain or anything. I was wondering if anyone had any idea what it might be, as I've read that tumors are generally painless.

It can't be seen, but I've confirmed that it is there. It's slightly round and you can slightly move it around .

I was just wondering if anyone might know what it could be.

Thank you!

  1. its very possible it is just a strange pimple under neath the skin. if you very worried about it see a doctor. you could try googling it. good luck.

  2. Best thing is to go to your doctors, I can't really offer anything else than that sorry, but I hope it's nothing serious.

  3. Sounds like a lymph node. Have you had a sore throat or ear ache lately? You should probably get it checked for peace of mind. Good luck and I hope its nothing.

  4. its prolly a nott nothing bad

  5. it could be an abcess..go to the doc or you could try squeezing it a little to see if it petrudes and if it does well then you could try to pop it..this part is gross and make sure your needle is sterilized and have lots of gauze  and peroxide cuz if its like what i have seen well there will be alot of pus...check out youtube...under largest zit and you will see what i'm talking about...other wise go to the doctor but i dont think its cancer or nothing like that course i dont know....and if its not then the doc is gonna do the same thing probally...

  6. A lymph node.  Get it checked out ASAP. Peace and good health to you.

  7. It might be an ingrown hair. Ingrown hairs generally sometimes hurt and i seriously doubt its a tumor, but i would go to your local dermotologist and have it checked it out to make sure its non-cancerous and it might be a mole but like i said have your local dermotologist check it out.

  8. There are a lot of lymph nodes in the area under the jaw. The bump you're feeling is likely a slightly swollen lymph node that sticks out more than the others. Lymph nodes can be enlarged from allergies or other common sicknesses like a cold. They can also enlarge during puberty.

Wait a few weeks and see if it goes away. If you're worried about it, it couldn't hurt to get your doc to check it out, but he'll likely say the same thing.

    Good luck!

  9. sounds like a cyst. check with your doctor to make sure.
