  1. lol I love kids...well I think the first answer pretty much summed it up...a turtle without a shell is both homeless and naked...and also dead.

(On a somewhat related note, a snail without a shell is a slug. I actually didn't make that connection until I was about 11...)

  2. No, their shell is part of their spine.

  3. Tell them  turtle without a shell is a lizard. and naked.

  4. Neither homeless or naked, it is DEAD.

  5. This gets asked every few hours here. Please forgive us if most of us no longer find it real cute. :-)

The shell of a turtle is made up of the ribcage, sternum (breastbone) and parts of the shoulder and pelvic bones. The backbone is fused to it as well, and the spinal chord runs along holes fused to the inside of the shell.

Just like humans, it cannot take off its skeleton and live.

  6. All turtles have shells if it doesnt its dead. Turtles arent like Hermit Crabs. They grow there shells. So, no there isnt such a thing as a Homeless or Naked turtle.

  7. Its Homeless

  8. Lol....Homeless

  9. it's dead.

the spine, and body is attached to the shell.
