  1. Male birds can no sooner lay an egg than your dad can give birth to a child.

    Same concept.

Have to have ovaries to lay eggs - have to be female to have ovaries.

  2. It's only possible for females to lay eggs.  That's why they have different reproductive organs.

  3. Your bird is without a doubt a girl.  It's impossible for males to lay eggs.

  4. Your bird is a female for sure. Leave her egg with her awhile if not she will keep laying and this can lead to a serious condition called calcium defeceincy. What I have done in past is to get dummy eggs and put them in place of the real one as these dont spoil. Her eggs will not be fertile without a male so dont worry about hurting or killing anything. make it a point to take a nest box out if you have one in and dont pet her back or let her pretend to feed you as this encourages mating and egg laying. Some females just lay and that is all there is to it. So just keep eggs in there with her. Eventually she will show no interest in them. Sometimes they even use a fav toy as a mate. make sure she has a calcium source like a cuttlebone and some crushed up oyster shell on or in her food. Good luck.

  5. Only the female will lay eggs. The male will need to breed with her in order for the eggs to be fertile and produce chicks. Leave the egg with her til she abandons it or she will keep laying. That is bad for her health. If you have a nest or nestbox with her, you will need to remove it once she is thru with the egg or eggs.
