I know suzuki recomends to use 10w40 engine oil, is it any danger to use 15w40? I have the bike serviced recently and the dealer has seemd to use this type of oil, does anyone know? please help thanks

  1. if the dealer put it in you should be right .

  2. It will be fine, I also have a Bandit and my husband changes the oil and has used both 10 and 15w from time to time.

  3. Since the oil is also used for the clutch, you want to avoid using any oil that had friction modifiers, additives and the such. Obviously motorcycle oil would be the best choice but isn't the most affordable option. Find a brand you like without the additives and stick with it.

  4. Me and hubby both have bikes and cars so it works out expensive to keep buying separate oils. Therefore we use the same cheaper oil for cars and bikes. Much cheaper and just as effective. No harm has come to any of our bikes by using 15w40.
