I have a tadpole at home and i need to know when to switch it into a water/land tank

  1. Based on websites, it looks like they can start crawling on land when the tail no longer looks tadpole-ish and more like a stump.  That is the point where they can start breathing air via their lungs.

    If you did find the tadpole out in the wild, go ahead and put it back in its natural habitat when it can go on both water and land.  The frog population isn't doing so great because there is a fungus that attack the frog's skin and kill it.

    However, I don't know what situation you are in.  The first poster shouldn't judge.  My sister has a few hundred water frog tadpoles because her frogs (ALBINO frogs from a PET SHOP) bred.  If I got one from her and wanted to find out when I could set up a new water/land tank, would I have received the same treatment?

  3. Your tank should have water and land at all times. If they don't have any resting areas like a little beach they wont grow at their normal rate.
