  1. Hi great question. I own an online business tapestry site.

    http://www.TapestriesNTassels.com

Most tapestries don't need much care with the exception of dusting it off. If you have one of those lamb skin dusters that is long and can reach up the wall, your in business, just lightly brush the tapestry edges and over the front, then behind the tapestrys if you can. Most tapestries are about 1-2 inches away from the wall. Again, go to my site http://www.TapestriesNTassels.com

and check out other great information. I hope this helps.

  2. Dry Cleaners or Rug Cleaners not places like Stanley Steamer but real rug cleaners are probably best choice. YOur tapestry sounds beautiful and its great you want to keep it look nice. Best Of Luck!

  3. hmm...I had an old silk/ wool oriental rug with all kinds of schmutz on it (it was previously in a multi-cat home).  none of the carpet cleaners i contacted wanted to touch it.  it was filthy and i was desperate...i took it to the car wash, laid it out, and cleaned it, no hot wax of course!! i let it dry in the shade outside. it came out beautifully. i guess i was lucky.

you could probably take it to your dry cleaner if you're not as crazy as i am, though!

  4. Find out what it's made of. The material or textile will help  to make the right choice.  Ask your dry cleaner for advice.
