I have a teen age mallard duck but people say it not a mallardand it wont be able to fly pleas help?

this DUCKLING is to young to have a ring around it neck but im also wondering if it not a mallard i think it a male becuase of the small raspy voice and it has a yellow beak and its twice as large as the other mallards the duck is also haveing troubles flying but it is trying to move it wing but doesnt move off the ground. but when this duck was young was much smaller then the rest they all grew fast expet him but when he started to grow he became bigger but his wing grew in very slow but his wing are fully grown now

The duck could be a mix with a peking or some other breed that's not meant for flying. Pekings tend to be bigger since they're meat and egg birds. We had muskovies and they bred with our pekings and the babies weren't as good at flying and they kept breeding and now we have a duck that won't fly. So that could be what's wrong with your duck unless you bought it as a mallard with other mallard ducklings. I don't know what to say about that.

It sounds that he is a Rouen duck,  very similar to mallards but larger and unable to fly. If its not small then its a rouen duck. They can NOT fly and are unable because htey are a heavyweight duck which most people have so they will stay ina yard.

Its fine, ducks are wonderufl pets just give em tlc and they will think ya 4 it.

Do you have a wildlife society around where you live? You might be able to take it there. Or the vets. It may still be to young to fly. Make sure its getting the right amount of food too (so it isn't overweight :)) Oh and while looking around I found this site and thought you might like it :)    http://www.squidoo.com/mallard

EDIT: I said take it to wildlife shelter or vets to see if it is okay and it doesn't have any damage. Not to let it stay there UNLESS it is necessary or something like that.

It should have some feathers  if its white its a pekin which does not fly(too heavy)
