I am thinking of converting it so that I could transport my two dogs.

A friend has told me that this would be against the law

Is my friend correct?

Have you any info on this.

  1. sorry mate for being thick, do you mean two wheeled or twin axles?

if its two wheels, (one either side) i would have thought that it would bounce around too much for the dogs to be safe and comfortable. However, if you have twin axles, then i really do not see a problem. the trailer would be safe and stable, the dogs would have comfort without being thrown around all over the place and apart from that, towing it would be a breeze. better if the trailer was a braked trailer but as long as you convert it to a reasonably good standard and it if checked regularly for the sogs safety, then carry on and enjoy. you'll be happy, the dogs will be happy and the police will be happy.

    have a great day.

  2. Australia. Dog trailers are common here, Greyhound racing is big and they travel from state to state for meetings. The kennels run from side to side with only just enough space to turn around (14-16inches) this is to prevent injury during driving conditions. (catapulting) Such a big trailer for two dogs? Its quite legal here.

  3. the weight is,nt an issue .i,m not sure about transporting dogs in a towed trailer though.

  4. As you can transport sheep and pigs in a trailer, I can't see why you shouldn't be able to do the same thing with dogs.
