  1. use index cards

  2. use notecards... that always helps me if i need to study quickly. just put questions or vocab on one side, and the answers on the other- that way you can quiz yourself

  3. Make index cards...even if you never go back thru them the process of writing the important information helps implant it in your memory.  For instance...put "1492" on one side of the card and on the back put "Columbus's First Voyage" or whatever your text/notes say,  Also, DO NOT stay up all night cramming and then go in sleep deprived.  There have been studies showing that your memory is greatly enhanced if you get at least 6 hours sleep after studying.  It doesn't do you any good to stay up all night cramming if you can't remember any of it because you're sleep deprived!

    Good Luck!

  4. It depends on how you revise best.

That could be through memory, through music, self-testing, going over it with a friend, re-writing it out...

    Everyone works differently!

You can try getting writing 'cards' and noting down the most important events/dates/names wutever on them. Refer to them before the test, but you may have to make a big handful of em if the chapter is chalked full of info.

Another easy thing to do is: Read The Chapter Three Times.

You'd be surprised how much sticks in, or you realize you have missed, when reading it a second or third time.

Highlight a few things in the chapter too, to look back at.

Since the instructor gave yous short notice, I cant imagine it being that tough. Probably just read it a few times with no distractions.

I have been a teacher briefly in the past,,, and the questions I had formulated, were really just to see if students were paying attention,,,not to torture students!! (Although it can seem like torture -- I've been a student too!)
